Procedure

Talk

  • If you are selected for a talk, we will inform you on 12 May 2025.
  • Prepare your presentation (10 minutes). Include a take-home message (based on the content) at the end.
  • Send it to us latest by 12 June 2025 (you will receive an upload link). Seeing your presentation slides ahead of the event is important for the graphic recorder, who will create a custom illustration during your talk.
  • A postdoc from the MaP community will give you feedback on your talk after the symposium.

Poster

  • Prepare and print your poster (A0, portrait) and bring it to the symposium.
  • Download Download (PDF, 50 KB) the "Struggles, Challenges, and Questions" sheet. Write down an issue where you would like input from fellow MaP researchers. Then, print the completed sheet and bring it to the symposium to display next to your poster.
  • Prepare a one-minute poster pitch to hold at the symposium (no slide).

Please note:

  • If your abstract is selected for a talk you can't take part in the poster contest. You may, however, participate in the image contest.
  • We believe that getting the opportunity to talk at the MaP Graduate Symposium is a prize in itself. There won't be any special prizes for talks.
  • Hanging up the "Struggles, Challenges, and Questions" sheet is compulsory if you would like to enter the poster contest. In case you forget it, MaP will have a few empty sheets at the registration desk (Audi Max foyer).
  • A jury of scientists from the Materials and Processes community will select the best posters for the MaP Poster Prizes. Only MaP doctoral students will be considered for these prizes.
  • Our industry partners are awarding additional thematic poster prizes (own selection). They will consider all posters (from MSc students, postdocs, and doctoral students alike).
  • All prize winners will be announced during the Award Ceremony on 19 June 2025. Please be present when the winners are announced.
