A heartfelt thank you to all our speakers:

  • Prof. Lori Graham-Brady from Johns Hopkins University, who enlightened us on the synergy between machine learning and materials design.
  • Prof. Glaucio Paulino from Princeton University, who amazed us with the engineering marvels of origami.
  • Prof. Veronique Lazarus from CNRS, ENSTA Paris, for her deep dive into asymptotic approaches for crack geometries.
  • Prof. Alison Davenport from the University of Birmingham, who shed light on the complexities of corrosion.
  • Prof. François Hild from LMPS, University of Paris-Saclay, for his expertise on image correlation techniques for damage analysis.

Your contributions made the symposium a resounding success.

Five MaP doctoral students participated in the pitch session. A big thank you to You Wang, Zhichao Han, Medhat Elmorsy, Jonas Heinzmann and Miguel Castellano! And congratulations to Jonas Heinzmann, whose pitch won the audience vote (and a box of chocolates).

Thank you to all the participants for making this event memorable. See you next year!
