The ETH Raman Workshop 2021 was intended to continue the success of previous editions, fostering the network of active Raman researchers, both in Switzerland and abroad. The workshop featured top-profile scientists from all over the world, aimed at providing insights into the various techniques and applications of Raman spectroscopy in science and engineering. We brought together researchers from different research fields and with different backgrounds, to strengthen collaborative research, facilitate the exchange of ideas, and to find solutions for the persistent challenges of the science of today and tomorrow.
The Download program (PDF, 318 KB) featured invited talks by leading Raman experts who gave insights into the most innovative techniques and applications of Raman spectroscopy to date.
Q & A Sessions
The Q & A sessions took place at the end of each cluster of presentations. They provided the opportunity to discuss open questions with the speakers of the day. The interaction between various speakers and the audience broadened the scope of the discussion.
Young Investigator Pitches
The Young Investigator Pitches provided exciting insights into current scientific work conducted by early career researchers. The short presentations of 4 min were an opportunity for up-and-coming researchers to share their perspective on Raman spectroscopy.
Raman Cocktail
The Raman Cocktail at the end of the workshop on 1 July provided the chance for online social exchange.
Since its experimental demonstration, Tip-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (TERS) has become an important technique in the chemical, physical and biological sciences. From catalysis, materials science to biophysics, the scope and applications of TERS are expanding. The TERS satellite session as part of the Raman Workshop 2021 aimed to bring together the researchers working with TERS to present and discuss their latest results and innovations. All participants of the Raman Workshop 2021 were cordially invited to participate too.
