Living, biological and bioinspired materials will play a dominant role in the future bio-​economy by being a driving force to remediate aggravating resource scarcity and facilitating sustainable and efficient materials design. ‘Sustainable & Bioinspired Materials’ imparts a broad knowledge of processing, structure and properties of living, biological and bioinspired materials. Core topics span from biological systems, including building blocks of biological systems and hierarchical wood structure, to bioprocesses and biochemical engineering, as well as active and adaptive bioinspired materials and life cycle assessment.
