Dr. Wang is recognised for his doctoral thesis “Chemical Recycling of Polymers Synthesized by Controlled and Free Radical Polymerization”. His research helps address the growing plastic waste problem by enabling polymers to be reverted to their original building blocks, the monomers. This process occurs at significantly lower temperatures than traditional pyrolysis methods.

Congratulations also to the other three finalists, Dr. Oscar Cipolato (D-MAVT), Dr. Fabio Enrico Furcas (D-BAUG), and Dr. Andreas Apseros (D-MATL)!

The MaP Award was handed over by Prof. Lucio Isa (D-MATL), director of the MaP Doctoral School, on the occasion of the MaP Graduate Symposium 2025 on 19 June 2025.

The MaP Doctoral School would like to thank the Award Jury—comprising experts from both academia and industry—for their thorough evaluation and feedback throughout the selection process.
