[Transdisciplinary] MaP Winter Retreat Kick-off Workshop

Almost 50 doctoral students, who had signed up for the MaP Winter Retreat on 'Time and Career Management for Scientist', attended the online kick-off workshop with trainer Dr. Karin Bodewits from NaturalScience.Careers.

Would they like to learn about on 'Time and Career Management for Scientists' and spend a weekend in the snow in the Swiss mountains? Of course! The transdisciplinary event pitch won the call for format ideas at the 2022 MaP Graduate Symposium easily. Spots in the workshop organised by doctoral students Zazo Meijis, Xanthe Verbeek, Max Merkel, and Rafaela Louis filled very quickly - the maximum numbers of participants even had to be extended to 50 in total.

At the mandatory online kick-off event, which took place on 16 December 2022 as two separate Zoom meetings, workshop trainer Dr. Karin Bodewits introduced the topic and gave the participants a questionnaire and assignments to complete before the workshop. The actual workshop will take place in Churwalden (Lenzerheide) end of January 2023. There, again under the guidance of Dr. Karin Bodewits, participants will discuss the results of the questionnaire and learn about how to overcome potential obstacles on their way to success. After an intensive first day, they will spend the second day in the snow, networking with each other and enjoying the mountain scenery, before all gathering again at the hotel to listen to a presentation by Dr. Tino Matter, MaP Award Winner 2021, on how he became an entrepreneur.
