Your guides
Henrik Thomsen

Henrik is a senior scientist working at the WaveLab and was one of the very first users of the Innovation Park. He is conducting experiments on wave propagation in solids using the robotized 3D LDV. Currently, he is focusing on creating physics-augmented digital twins of carbon fibre composites to detect flaws via guided-wave ultrasound. Henrik hopes to increase awareness of the experimental capabilities at WaveLab across ETH, with special focus on the robotised 3D LDV.
Ralph Rosenbauer

Ralph is manager programming at Switzerland Innovation Park Zurich. He uses his experience in robotics, remote sensing and advanced manufacturing to foster innovation through knowledge transfer and events. In his spare time he engages in photography (wildlife, street and reportage) and the restoring of old technology.
What you will visit

external page Switzerland Innovation Park Zurich: The park serves as a bridge between science and business. Its focus areas are robotics & mobility, space & aviation, and advanced manufacturing.

external page ETH Hangar: ETH boasts over 3,000 square metres of research space in Dübendorf. In Hangar 2, ARIS develops rocket systems, Swissloop explores hyperloop concepts, Cellsius works on hydrogen aircraft, and AMZ Racing builds record-breaking electric race cars. Hangar 3 supports large-scale, multi-year collaborations between ETH spin-offs and industry leaders.

WaveLab: WaveLab is a unique platform for immersive wave experimentation in acoustic media. It has the ability to completely immerse a physical experiment in a numerical environment in real time, and let the two domains interact and drive each other.
