Scientific Skills Speed Dating
MaP Doctoral School invited its members to informally connect with one another and get to know each other's scientific ventures, unique skills and talents through a fun community evening in a relaxed atmosphere.
The Scientific Skills Speed Dating took place on 30 June 2022 at Kraftwerk, a former power station situated within walking distance of Zurich HB. It was a facilitated, yet informal and high-intensity community activity designed to encourage junior scientists from the multidisciplinary field of Materials, Processes & Manufacturing Technologies to meet and strike up new conversations. Participants embraced the chance to make new contacts, learn from one another and figure out potentials for joint scientific interest and spark.
It is not often that junior researchers have the opportunity to informally chat with peers outside their specific area of expertise. This novel community format was the winning idea of the 2021 Call by the MaP Doctoral School for Transdisciplinary Formats to prepare its people to drive future transformations in the way Materials & Processes shape the world.
