The Robotics, Vision, and Controls Talks series features internationally renowned speakers at the forefront of robotics and artificial intelligence research. The series covers fundamental advances in soft robotics, computer vision, and bio-inspired systems, with speakers showcasing cutting-edge developments in areas ranging from insect-scale aerial robots to deep-sea machines.

Presentations will demonstrate how innovative mechanical designs, soft materials, and artificial intelligence can enhance robot capabilities and create more adaptable systems. Speakers will illustrate breakthroughs in 3D perception, manipulation strategies, and biohybrid innovations that bridge the gap between biological and engineered systems. The series explores applications across multiple domains, from miniature flying robots to advanced manipulation systems with exceptional reach. Through these talks, attendees will learn about: novel approaches to robot design and control; mechanisms for enhanced perception and manipulation; and applications in aerial robotics, soft systems, and computer vision. The series takes place in a hybrid format at ETH Zürich, making these insights accessible to a global audience.
This course consists of a series of weekly lectures given by researchers who have distinguished themselves in the area of Robotics and Vision. It will have research talks given by leaders in both robotics and computer vision. Students will be able to learn from and interact with top researchers and gain an understanding of research.
There are no prerequisites for this seminar. However, it will help if the student has taken introductory classes in robotics or computer vision.
On-site attendance to the lectures is preferred to foster in-person contacts.
